Thankful Thursday Meme
In previous posts I've mentioned that my husband has been working out of town. Well, he's been gone longer than he had originally thought. His 3 week trip turned into 6 weeks. When it was the day before he was supposed to leave to come home, he called me and said that the transmission went out on the van and it isn't worth it to fix it. This van is our only vehicle. Now he would have to stay and figure out how to buy another van.
Normally, this situation would have stressed me out - my husband is 1000 miles away and we no longer have a vehicle. But, I told God about the problem and I told Him that we were going to need His help. Lately, I've been trying to give my problems to Him and ask for His intervention.
So, here is the part that I am thankful for. My husband called yesterday to say that he bought a van. It has the features that we need - 8 seats and it is extended in the back - at the price that we wanted to pay. I can't believe that we got it for that low of a price.
Unfortunately, my husband has to stay and work longer. But, we are thankful that there is more work for him to do. That way he will be able to pay for the van in full. We won't owe anything on it. Howard Dayton from the Money Matters Christian Radio Show has convinced us that paying cash for a used vehicle is possible if you're determined and you pray about it. That's what we did and God blessed us with the perfect van at the perfect price. Thank you, God.

I'm being thankful with you. That's an amazing miracle that God did for you all. Now, if you're hubby can just get home so you can take it for a spin! :0)

Wonderful! What a testimony, reminder and example to follow! WoW! Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed Thankful Thursday!
That is so awesome, I am very happy for you.
I am so glad I read your post! We are wanting to purchase a van within our price range and I realize that I need to not only pray about it but pray some specific things.
Hope you have a wonderful week!

Isn't God great! Had that vehicle just waiting for you! We pay cash for our used vehicles too! It feels so good to be able to do that! My husband is a wonderful budgeter!
Happy TT to you!
I love reading what grateful people write.
You continue to BLESS God in ALL things!
Great news on the van. I also listen to that program, it's great.
Blessings♥
I love hearing stories about how God provides vehicles and there are many.
Shari, I just wanted to let you know that you have received the Blogging With a Purpose Award. See my blog for details.
Wow, I can relate to this post. My husband has been working out of town, so I know how you feel (or I know how I feel about it - they are probably similar). AND we were talking just last night about how we have to buy a used mini-van in the next couple weeks because the one we have needs several costly repairs and my husband said it isn't worth it. Sounds a little like what was in your post, I think. :) Was it a van you bought or a mini-van? I just ask because we could really use 8 seats and an extended back but I don't like driving full size vans (besides the fact that we don't have the money for gas for a full size van). If you have time to answer my question my email is annie.and.isaac@gmail.com - if not that's fine.
I love the idea of Thankful Thursday. Might start it on my blog if that's okay with you. :)
Hope your husband makes it home soon.

Yea - I'm not so sure I can say that I would have been able to be so calm about needing a new car. On the other hand, all things are possible with God, right?
Shari - that is AWESOME! What a sweet Provider our Lord is!
Praise God for providing so wonderfully for your family, isn't He just awesome. Both of our vehicles are older, a 1992 and a 1997, both paid for. I am just trusting the Lord that they will continue to be reliable until He sees fit to send another vehicle our way!
Thank you for posting the things that you are thankful for, god bless.
What a fantastic TT post. Shari, you and your husband are wise beyond years.
Wonderful.
Its always awesome when we see the answer to pray and Know it is a God thing. I know what it is to be away from ones husband. Pray for peace about everything.

WOW! I just love it when God shows off for us! I love to hear your thankful post! I will say a prayer for you and your husband. I know it must be difficult to be apart for so long.
Isn't it amazing how God will work it all out for you? Sometimes, I'm amazed at how He takes care of even the littlest things for me. Nothing to great, nothing to small for our Glorious God! Amen!
That is great. Last summer we desparately needed a van that would hold eight peeps and then plenty of storgae space in the back. God blessed us too. I knew he would at just the right time. Congratulations on your new to you van.
I am overjoyed by your blessing! Praise the Lord for He is GOOD!
Thanks for stopping by the Friendship Party. It's great getting to know you. Have a BLESSED weekend! Leinani

That is so cool, Shari that your beloved was able to buy the new van with cash. Although it meant for you to be longer apart, but it good for your pocket in the long run.
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this past week.
Blessings to you and yours.
Thanks for visiting my blog last week. I meant to stop by earlier than this...here it is TT again! Actually, I popped on over here and read your TT post but never got a chance to comment. I remember being amazed at God's provision for your family! You inspire me to begin to praying harder for ours. We need a more economical vehicle now that gas is so high. We are not willing to go into debt for a vehicle either. Thanks for sharing!
