Please Pray for My Sister

My Walk Monday Meme

I would appreciate your prayers for my younger sister. She is in the hospital fighting for the life of her 22-week old unborn baby - Sadie Grace. She is loosing amniotic fluid and at risk for infection. It is possible that the baby could be born any day, but the baby is not completely developed and will probably not make it if she is born this early.

Please pray that:
  • this baby will make it to full term without further complications.
  • God will give my sister and her husband His peace.
  • God will comfort my two young nephews. They lost their father to suicide last October and are afraid that their unborn baby sister will die.
Thank you for supporting me and my sister's family during this scary, uncertain time.

Update:

My sister has been released from the hospital and has been commanded to lay flat in bed for the next 4 months. While she was in the hospital, the Dr. told her that she had an option to abort the baby, because if it came that early there were be physical problems with the little one. That gave my sister the opportunity to state her pro-life view and her trust in God.It's so heartbreaking that women are given this option and out of fear chose abortion because the Dr. suggested it.

This week’s Bonus Question: What is the very first scripture you ever memorized? Or the one you first - remember - memorizing? And when was it?
Psalm 118:24 This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (As a young girl, I sang this verse as a song. It was one of my favorites.)

Join Carolyn for the My Walk Monday Meme. Write a post about your walk with the Savior - what you learned in your devotions, what you are struggling with, a new worship song you learned, a prayer request, a new Bible study you started, a praise report … anything that is helping you grow in your relationship with the Lord.

Father God, we do come before you, asking for your mercy. Lord, we pray that the baby will make it to full term without complications. We pray for the peace that passes all understanding for these parents. Lord, we also pray for the nephews, comforting them. God, we cry out to you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Keep us updated, Shari.
Blessings, sister.

I will keep your sweet sister and her unborn-baby-girl in my prayers. So sad to read that the Dr gave a an option to abort.

My first verse I remember learning? 1 Corinthians 13:13

Praying for you, your sister, & family... and for the doctor - I too agree that they should not be able to offer such advice. I'm glad you've found My Walk Monday... it's a joy to share our thoughts of what we're learning and know that Prayer requests will be spoken for!

Thanks for stoppin by my post - have a blessed week.

I'll be praying for your sister, Shari! Please encourage your sis to really listen to her Dr. "Flat in bed" is really flat in bed. Left side -- only up to potty.

Word of hope: if she can hold on till 32 weeks, the likelihood of a healthy baby increases exponentially! AND there is hope for babies born before 30 weeks -- I'm so proud of her for standing up for what is right (and I don't even know her!). Four months seems like a lot, but it really will fly by!

Have an absolutely wonderful week!

Praise the Lord your sister is out of the hospital. I will continue praying for her precious baby. A good book on Christian Community is L'Abri by Francis and Edith Shaeffer. I would like to write more on community but will have to put some prayer into it first. Please let me know in what ways your church is encouraging community and what that means to them.
Blessings,
Tracy

Interesting how she's already named her baby. I'll be praying. This week at our youth Bible study we actually prayed for doctors because abortion is becoming so overly common.
