What have I done to deserve this problem? Why did those bad things happen to me? Why me?
I don't like problems and I imagine that you probably don't either. Some of my problems I bring on myself due to choices that I make and some problems just happen to me. One thing that I have learned about problems is that we can grow spiritually as we deal with problems.
Basically, whatever happens to me is to help accomplish the purpose God has for me - His will for my life. Therefore, I will have problems and troubles, but I will also have blessings. And they will differ from the problems and blessings of other people, because His will is different for each of us.
How are our present troubles beneficial?
- They will be used to glorify God.
- God will strengthen our spirits in our weakness.
- They make us more godly, like Him.
- He can use us to help others going through the same trouble.
"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)

I agree, it is often difficult to surrender to the Lord. We need to just let go and let God.

What a beautiful post. So often we ask why as if we're expecting something from Him who has given us everything already. The Savior never asked why and has set the perfect example for us.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments about the passing of our prophet and president of the church. He will be sorely missed, but our faith teaches us and promises us that he, like all of us can and will be, is with his sweetheart and all those who have gone before him. We mourn his loss, but we know that death is not the end. And we know that our Father in Heaven will continue to speak to us and will not leave us alone, and more importantly, He will not leave us comfortless.
I really enjoy reading your blog. I'm grateful for the faith of so many strong women who love their husbands and their children and the Savior. And they do everything they can to be like Him. Thank you, again.

Wow..what a beautiful blog! I chose this post to leave a comment on because I probably used the question "why me" often in my life. Believe it or not it wasn't until I had a disabled child, who is now 7, that I was able to stop saying why, and in turn say "Thank You"
God in His wisdom sovereignly chooses the paths before us for His eternal purposes. I have grown tremendously and have experienced much peace since this little life was given to us. When I take in her life I realize who really is needy and incapacitated. Me! :) We complain and gripe and concern ourselves with such worldly and material things. But my darling daughter has no material desires whatsoever. For her it's all about closeness, love, hugs and kisses. What more can I ask for. What more can our Heavenly Father desire from His children.
