Recipe: Monkey Bread with Cream Cheese Frosting

Disclaimer: Monkey Bread with Cream Cheese Frosting is not healthy. It may even clog your arteries.

Monkey Bread
:
  • 16 frozen dough balls (uncooked, for baking rolls, the equivalent of 1 loaf of bread)
  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter, melted
  • 3/4 c. sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon
Cut dough into 32 pieces about the size of golf balls. Roll each and place in a 9x12 greased cake pan. Stir the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Pour evenly over the tops of the dough balls. (Most of it will run over the dough balls and sit on the bottom of the pan.) Set the pan in a slightly warm oven for about an hour, until dough balls have risen nicely. Then, bake at 350* for 25 minutes. Serve them warm with Cream Cheese Frosting.

Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
Beat the softened cream cheese, milk, and vanilla on low speed until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time until it's smooth and will spread nicely.
